Mel C 'splits' from boyfriend after seven years and is 'not afraid to be single'

Mel C has reportedly split from her producer boyfriend Joe Marshall after seven years together.The Spice Girl, 48, who recently begged Victoria Beckham to rejoin the band alongside Mel B, had been with Joe, who is in his 40s, since 2015 before allegedly appearing to call it quits on their romance. Joe, who Mel C appointed as her manager several years ago, lives in the same house as the star alongside her 13 year old daughter Scarlet, who she shares with ex Thomas Starr, as well as his own two children. A source broke the news of their break up to The Sun as they shared: "Mel has an incredibly busy career between her book deal, DJ-ing and other plans.
"The little free time she does have is devoted to her daughter Scarlet, and that doesn't leave much time for a relationship." The source added that their split was "amicable" and she's "not afraid to be single if she thinks it's for the best". OK! Online has approached Mel C's representative for further comment. It comes after Sporty Spice recently opened up to OK! about her close relationship with her daughter Scarlet, who she described as her "best friend".
In an exclusive chat, she shared: "Any parents of teenagers will know exactly how much of a handful they can be. But she’s absolutely wonderful. She really is my best friend.” When asked if she could envisage her daughter following in her footsteps, Melanie admitted she can’t tell at this point.
“Scarlet’s not a singer and she’s not sporty,” she says. “She’s on her own path. Where that will lead, who knows? But I’m very proud of her," she said.
