The Royal Family have been told to brace themselves with Meghan Markle allegedly set to share revelations that have been described as "more damaging" than her infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey. The warning has come from leading royal author Duncan Larcombe who believes the Duchess of Sessex's new Spotify podcast should be a cause of concern for senior royals. Meghan, 41, released the first episode of her podcast, named Archetypes, on 23 August.
In the first instalment of the podcast, which Meghan says will give listeners the chance to get to know the "real" her, she spoke to tennis legend Serena Williams about the double standard women face when they are labelled "ambitious". The two friends also discussed the ripple effect that this has on other aspects of their lives, as well as speaking to Dr. Laura Kray, a leading expert on gender in the workplace.
But as well as discussing their views on feminism, Meghan disclosed how her her and Harry’s son Archie narrowly escaped a fire in his bedroom when he was meant to be sleeping, during the Sussexes' tour of South Africa in 2019. During the anecdote, the 41 year old couldn't help but take a slight dig at the Royal Family's protocols which saw the family have to do an official engagement just hours after the blaze. But with more episodes set to be released there could be even more royal swipes on the way.
Duncan believes the Royal Family should be preparing themselves for more attacks in the weeks to come. The royal biographer, who wrote Prince Harry: The Inside Story, admits he fears more controversy could be sparked by Meghan in the coming months. Speaking to The Daily Beast, the author said: "This was the opening salvo in Meghan's 12-week war.
