Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have blasted the 'small' cottage they were made to live in following their wedding in their highly-anticipated Netflix documentary. The final part of 'Harry & Meghan' was released on Thursday morning with the beginning of the fourth episode focusing on the day of their wedding in 2018.
The newlywed Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into Nottingham Cottage which is situated in the grounds of Kensington Palace in London, the Mirror reports. The allegedly cramped property with 'low ceilings' was previously home to Prince William and Princess Kate who lived there with their son, Prince George.
Meghan and Harry slammed their former home as they claimed it was not the grand palace everyone assumed they would be staying in as the former American actress said no one would have actually 'believed' the way they were living.
Harry revealed legendary chat show host, Oprah Winfrey interviewed him and Meghan last year in the cottage and was stunned by where the pair were living. She reportedly told the couple: "No one would ever believe it."
Harry said: "As far as people were concerned we were living in a palace. [But] we were living in a cottage on palace grounds.
"Kensington Palace sounds very regal of course, it does say palace in the name. But Nottingham Cottage was small."
"The whole thing was really small on a slight lean with low ceilings." Despite knowing his brother previously lived there, he joked: "Whoever lived there before must have been small."
Meghan added her husband would constantly hit his head in the cottage 'because he's so tall'. She said: "It was a chapter in our lives where I don't think anyone could believe what it was actually like behind-the-scenes."
