At least four Democrats running for Senate positions around the country — John Fetterman, Rep.Tim Ryan, Mandela Barnes, Cheri Beasley, and Sen.
Raphael Warnock — have voiced support for an end to cash bail in America. Crime, which has skyrocketed across several major American cities, has become an important concern for voters ahead of the November elections, with a poll last month indicating that a majority view Republicans as more equipped to handle the issue that has become more important to them than abortion.

An "October surprise" rocked the Georgia Senate race earlier this month with the allegation that Republican candidate Herschel Walker paid for a girlfriend's abortion in 2009, which he has flatly denied. Walker, who has pushed a staunch pro-life platform on the campaign trail, has been accused by his liberal critics of being a hypocrite while Republicans have largely circled the wagons. The RealClearPolitics average of polls has his Democratic opponent, incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock, up three points as the race has largely tightened in recent weeks.

Laura Ingraham questioned whether Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman or even the president himself are adept to be in office Friday on "The Ingraham Angle." If you're thinking, let's say, of putting an addition on your house, maybe renovating your kitchen, would you trust John Fetterman to review the bids and negotiate with the builders? And for that matter, would you trust Joe Biden to hire the best team to get the job done? Pennsylvania Lt. Gov.

North Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Cheri Beasley is a strong proponent of "ending the cash bail system," and during her time as a judge on the North Carolina Supreme Court, insisted that there is "great value in that premise" of dismantling the criminal justice system and restructuring it. As outlined on Beasley's campaign website, the Tar Heel State Democrat supports "ending some mandatory minimums and ending the cash bail system particularly for nonviolent offenders." "Counties big and small, urban and rural, are changing the way they handle criminal cases pre-trial, and they are beginning to see positive results," Beasley said.
