The film's plot verges on farcical, which is a personal pre-requisite for any movie that claims the qualifier “rom-com.” In Maybe I Do, two couples are brought together by their children, whom they learn are contemplating marriage. Unbeknownst to the millennial pair, their parents already know each other—because they're all secretly sleeping with one another. Gere and Sarandon play paramours who are married to Keaton and Macy, respectively, who are also having an affair.
The whole thing is as convoluted as it sounds and I cannot wait to see it in theaters.
