Fans of The Masked Singer are convinced that underneath the mask of Mushroom is the Homes Under the Hammer’s star, Martel Maxwell. And it seems they could be on to something, as the 44 year old presenter herself has dropped a huge hint that she could be the fungi on the hit ITV singing show, as fans grilled her on whether she was a contestant. As viewers guessed who was behind the much-debated mask on Twitter, Martel, who has co-hosted the BBC property show since 2017, joined in with the conversation.

She retweeted the post about the top-secret singing show and wrote: “Was it?!?” with a mushroom emoji. Other fans quickly responded to Martel, saying they were in agreement. One wrote: “I think so too…” As a third added: “Could be, because there not Mushroom in the House Martel showed this week.” Four celebrities have already had their identity revealed as they were voted off the show and unmasked.These include Pat Cash as the Bagpipes, Heather Small, Will Young as the Lionfish and Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford.
However, viewers and judges have been stumped by the identity of the mushroom. In their first performance, they sang It’s Oh So Quiet by Bjork and a week later they performed There Are Worse Things I Could Do by Stockard Channing.The song choices haven’t given much away about their identity, but it’s their accent that has left viewers confused.
