Marvel’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Headline Phase 5 Disney+ Shows [Comic-Con]

Earlier this week, Warner Bros. Discovery made a drastic decision: axing a nearly completed “Batgirl” movie, shocking many fans and non-fans alike with the news that a $90 million-budgeted superhero pic would never see the light of day.

Over the weekend, Marvel Studios announced their big Phase 5 and Phase 6 plans with a slate of titles/release dates. Of course, their “Fantastic Four” was part of those updates, and we learned that the Phase 6 pic is set for release on November 8, 2024.

Zack Sharf Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed at Comic-Con that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally get more “Avengers” movies with the 2025 releases of “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.” The first three “Avengers” movies were all separated by three years each, while one year separated the debuts of “Infinity War” and “Endgame.” With “The Kang Dynasty” set for May 2025, there will officially be a six-year Avengers gap on the big screen. Feige recently explained to MTV News the long hiatus.“The truth is, when we were doing Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3, there were less projects over more years,” Feige said.

For months, rumors and stories have been circulating in official and non-official capacities about the VFX industry and Marvel. For one, it’s well-known and publicly established— if you’re reading the trades with any regularity— that the movie business is experiencing what is known as a “VFX pipeline crisis” affecting the entire film, TV, and VFX industry.

For years, pundits and fans assumed that the Russo Brothers would return to direct the next major Marvel ‘Avengers’ movie, especially after their phenomenal success with ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame.’ But as Kevin Feige recently revealed, and the Russo brothers just illustrated with new “Gray Man” sequel announcements, they are busy, and the Marvel chief said they would be directing neither “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” or “Avengers: Secret Wars.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige made several major updates about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to outlining the end of Phase 4 and sharing the full lineup for Phase 5, Feige also revealed plans for Phase 6, which will kick off with in 2024 before ending with two new Avengers films, and, in 2025. Additionally, the films and TV series released during Phases 4 through 6 would collectively be known as the Multiverse Saga. While this was Feige’s first in-person appearance at Comic-Con since 2019, fans weren’t expecting for so much to be revealed, especially considering that the last time he only announced new film and TV installments for Phase 4.

The 2022 San Diego Comic-Con was a star-studded event!
