Martin Lewis has issued a warning to everyone currently claiming legacy benefits who are set to be moved through the ‘managed migration’ process by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to Universal Credit by the end of 2024.

Some 2.6 million people on older-style benefits, including Tax Credits, Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Housing Benefit and Income Support will receive a ‘Migration Notice’ at some point over the next two years giving them three months to apply for Universal Credit.

However, DWP estimated calculations show that some 900, 000 claimants could be worse off when they move, something Martin addressed on a special hour-long edition of Money Show Live.
