Thousands of heartfelt messages left on the mural of footballer Marcus Rashford in Withington have been destroyed by heavy rainfall.
The tributes were due to be removed tomorrow in order to be preserved by some of the city's galleries and museums.
But downpours have sadly beat curators to it this evening, ruining the display.

Hundreds also took part in a Stand Up to Racism rally by the artwork on Copson Street, which is near where Rashford grew up and went to school.

The television presenter was speaking to nine year old Dexter, who had left his co-host Susanna Reid in tears the day before with the letter he wrote to the footballer, when he made the remark.
