Since that victory over the Merseysiders, United have picked up more points (49) than any other Premier League club, highlighting just how big a juncture that was in their season. And for Rashford it was a result that started the rebuild of the players' relationship with the fans.
"For me, probably, Liverpool at home," Rashford told Stadium Astro. "I think in such a big game after such poor results to go and beat them in that stage of the season was massive for us and the fans.
"It probably helped us connect with the fans a little bit. So yes, for me, I would say that game."
Williams, who has made just one appearance this season, was in agreement with Rashford, insisting that marked the beginning of the largely excellent run the club has been on ever since.
