Zinchenko leaving means City are in the market for a left-back and Cucurella fits the bill there. He impressed in his debut season for Brighton after touching down in the Premier League from Getafe last summer. Before that the 24-year-old progressed through the famous La Masia system at Barcelona.
However, the five-cap Spain international only made one first-team appearance for the Catalans. But he dreams he will be able to add to that tally at some stage in his career.
Speaking about his ambitions in November, the Brighton defender told Sport: "In the end, I've been there for many years at Barca. We could say that it's my home and my family or my wife's, who is from Barcelona. I have a thorn in my side because I made my debut in the first-team, but I was never able to play at Nou Camp. I think it's something I'd like to do before I retire or leave football."
