Manchester City's new signing Manuel Akanji has already explained why he has joined the Blues instead of his boyhood club Man United.
Akanji has penned a five-year deal on transfer deadline day to become the last signing of the transfer window for City. Speaking following his arrival at the Etihad, the 27-year-old said: "I wanted to get better.
"Now moving here to Manchester City under the command of Pep Guardiola, it can't get better than that. The combination of the coach and the club is perfect for me. I'm really looking forward to working with him and the rest of the coaching staff and my teammates."

Those who have followed Akanji's career may be aware that he was a boyhood supporter of rivals United.
Back in 2018, though, he appeared to denounce his allegiance to the team, due to their performances under Jose Mourinho. He explained to WAZ: "It's true that I was a Manchester United fan from an early age.
"But at the moment I don't look at their games very closely because I don't like the way they play under Jose Mourinho. I don't know why that is because I'm not there and don't know what they are training.
"At the moment I'm very happy in Dortmund."
The Swiss defender may have the opportunity to start against the team he once supported at the beginning of next month when City host United at the Etihad Stadium on October 2. Blues fans can be well assured though that there will be no split allegiances on Akanji's part on the day itself.
