Manchester United's wage bill dropped by £5m between October and December 2022 following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the most recent financial statement which was released on Thursday, figures show that staff wages at United were at £82.3m in October 2022 when Ronaldo was still at the club. The figure has dropped to £77.3m in the latest figures.
Due to Ronaldo leaving United without a pay-off, MEN Sport understands that the Reds saved £16m on his wage between November and the end of June 2023. Thus for the six-week time period to which the latest financial figures refer, it would appear that the Portuguese star's exit would account for an approximate £3m saving of the overall £5m drop in wages at Old Trafford.
