Manchester United are reportedly set 'to rival' Liverpool for Brazilian wonderkid Joao Gomes from Flamengo.

Flamengo's talented youngster has caught the eye of Premier League clubs after making 105 appearances for the Brazilian side across all competitions. Gomes is a versatile player, most commonly operating as a defensive midfielder, but can also play in a more advanced role, making him a very appealing option to Erik ten Hag.

Elsewhere, The Athletic report that United will only receive £9million from Everton for James Garner initially, with the possibility of a further £6.5million in add-ons.
