Manchester United loanee Matej Kovar has blasted his own 'naive' debut for Sparta Prague this weekend.
Kovar, who has had loan spells at Swindon Town and Burton Albion in the past, joined the Czechia giants this week on a season long loan switch. The 22-year-old was thrust straight into the starting line-up for his side's away trip to FK Teplice on Saturday.
However, it was not the debut Kovar would have dreamt of, having been booked for a foul during the match before conceding twice as Sparta Prague let a two-goal lead slip in the Fortuna Liga. And after the match, the United loanee gave an honest verdict on his performance.

He told Sport.cz: "That’s not how I imagined the first match. I take the second goal on myself, it passed between me and Casper [Hojer].
"I was nervous, but the boys helped me, I went to the pitch with a clear head. Seven minutes before the end, it was naïve on my part.
"I should have kept the ball, driven the boys forward." Fortunately for Kovar, it would seem that his new boss was happy to overlook the 'keeper's debut.
"He is an excellent goalkeeper with a great future," Sparta manager Brian Priske explained. "We brought him in, in the last minutes of the transfer window with the sole intention of playing.
"We made such a move because we are convinced that he is a better goalkeeper than the ones we have had so far. It is clear that he did not have optimal conditions for the first match."
Kovar will be hoping for an improved performance next weekend when he could make his home debut against Banik.
