Cristiano Ronaldo has laughed at Atletico Madrid fans protesting against his potential signing this week.
Ronaldo was absent from United's pre-season tour this month and he wants to leave the club due to their slow movement in the transfer market and failure to qualify for the Champions League, which has slashed his salary by 25 per cent.
After expressing his desire to leave United, Ronaldo received a lucrative offer from Saudia Arabia, which would equate to £233million over the course of the two-year contract, but it's understood he wants to play Champions League football next season.

Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes held talks with United about his future this week and that has coincided with reports linking the 37-year-old to Atletico Madrid intensifying, despite the Spanish club's president dismissing any potential move.
Although Atletico president Enrique Cerezo ruled out a move for Ronaldo, that didn't stop supporters from protesting against his potential arrival this week when holding up banners in pre-season that read: "CR7 not welcome."
Ronaldo has now responded to the protest, which is pictured on a dedicated fan account, by commenting with laughing emojis on social media.
Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with Ronaldo, but that seems impossible with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at the club, while Bayern Munich have also ruled out a move for Ronaldo, explaining that it would not align with their philosophy. Chelsea are also out of the running.
