Rice has been linked with a move to Old Trafford ahead of what is set to be a huge summer for incoming manager Erik ten Hag. The 52-year-old faces a number of areas that are in dire need of bolstering, including the midfield.
United have long held an interest in Rice, having identified him as a priority signing after a standout couple of years. West Ham though have made plenty of efforts to ward off any potential offers, having slapped a substantial asking price on the 23-year-old.

And it looks as though the Hammers may have won the battle to keep hold of their prize asset. The Daily Mail reports that the club are ‘assured’ Rice will stay ‘for at least another year’ and reject any approaches from biggers clubs.
Rice is under contract at the London Stadium until 2024, with the Hammers also holding the option of a further year. The midfielder is thought to have not given any reason to believe he wants to leave the club, and is set to take over the captaincy as Mark Noble retires at the end of the season.
