Manchester United have sanctioned Anthony Martial's loan move to Sevilla after the La Liga side agreed to cover all of Anthony Martial's wages.
United won't receive a loan fee for Martial, but they were unwilling to allow the France forward to leave unless his salary was covered in full.
After several weeks of negotiations, Sevilla have now agreed to pay all of Martial's £240,000-a-week wage, having initially only offered to cover half of that salary.
Martial is expected in Sevilla for a medical and to finalise a loan move for the rest of the season on Tuesday. There will be no option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Martial's agent Philippe Lamboley went public with his client's desire to leave in search of more regular first-team football in December and Martial then reaffirmed that stance in a meeting with Ralf Rangnick.
After United only fielded eight of a possible nine substitutes at Aston Villa a little more than a week ago, Rangnick said Martial had refused to be part of the squad, a claim the 26-year-old rejected.
He was then named as a substitute for the win at Brentford and came off the bench against West Ham on Saturday.
His introduction was greeted with a smattering of jeers at Old Trafford, but Martial played a key role in Marcus Rashford's 93rd minute winning goal and Rangnick praised his professionalism after the game.
That was only Martial's 11th appearance for United this season — of which only four have been starts.
He joins a Sevilla side who are second in La Liga, just four points behind Real Madrid, and who will be targeting another Europa League triumph in May, with the final to be played at their home ground.
