A man was taken to hospital after police searched a park following a 'concern for welfare' call in Newton Heath.
Officers were called to Brookdale Park, off Droylsden Road, just before 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday). They were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.
A search was then carried out with the police helicopter deployed to the area. Residents reported seeing a large police presence in the park.

Officers were spotted searching grassed area, with activity focused on the area near the bandstand. A man was taken to hospital from the scene at around 7pm, police said.
