Police have issued an appeal after a woman was robbed and attacked on a busy high street in Bolton.
The woman was walking down Market Street in Farnworth when she was approached by two people, police said. A man then tried to snatch her handbag.
He attacked her before stealing a while gold chain, officers added. Police are now asking any witnesses of the incident - which happened at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, August 9 - to come forward.

Police want to speak to two members of the public who tried to help the victim on the scene. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 3.30pm on Wednesday 9 August, police were called to reports of a robbery on Market Street, Bolton.
"The victim had been walking down Market Street, Bolton when she was approached by two individuals. A man made attempts to snatch the victim's handbag before assaulting her and stealing a white gold chain.
"Police are now following up a number of lines of enquiry and are in a position to appeal for assistance from members of the public. It is believed there were two members of the public that tried to intervene and help the victim and we are really keen to speak to these people.
"If you were in the area around the time of the incident or have any relevant CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage please get in touch with officers on 101 quoting log number 2832-10082023."
