A man who was found dead at a flat in Grangemouth has been named locally.
Allan West, 67, was discovered at the property on Bowhouse Road at around 6.40pm on Monday, August 22. His death is being treated as unexplained and officers have launched a probe in a bid to uncover the full circumstances surrounding it.
Local residents reported seeing a heavy police presence in the area with a cordon put in place round the block of flats near Islay Court. Specialist forensic officers in white suits were seen entering the flats while uniformed officers stood guard the scene.
Officers remained in attendance on Tuesday morning. Police Scotland say their enquiries into the death remain ongoing.
A statement from the force said: “Around 6.40pm on Monday, 22 August, 2022, officers were called to a property in Bowhouse Road, Grangemouth following the death of a 67-year-old man.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
