Manchester City found themselves in familiar territory when kicking off the latest Premier League season.
Having edged out Liverpool to claim a fourth title in five years, Pep Guardiola and his star-studded team celebrated with an open-top bus parade around Manchester and the driver must have been quite used to that route. But there has been one notable difference this time around.
Despite that domestic success, Guardiola opted to shake things up and there could yet be further adjustments with his City squad before the summer transfer deadline on Thursday, September 1 at 11pm.

After missing out on Harry Kane last summer, City turned their attentions to Erling Haaland for this season and they promptly won the race for his £51million signature. Haaland, 22, scored 85 goals in 88 outings for Borussia Dortmund and has made a blistering start to life back in the UK.
Born in Leeds, the Norway sensation netted twice on the opening day against West Ham. He also contributed with an assist during the follow-up victory over newly-promoted opponents Bournemouth.
As part of their summer recruitment drive, City also signed Stefan Ortega as back-up to Ederson between the posts and spent £50million on England midfielder Kalvin Phillips. Moving in the other direction were Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Oleksandr Zinchenko for a combined £124.5million.
Speculation over Bernardo Silva continues to mount - amid interest from Barcelona - while Guardiola has started to map out plans for Liam Delap and three other promising youngsters. But for now, it is time to focus on moves which have been rubber-stamped by key figures in the Etihad Stadium boardroom.
