Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland with the Blues set to be the side to prise the highly-rated Norwegian away from the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old has 25 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions for the Black and Yellows this season, also contributing eight assists. Already incoming in the summer is River Plate talisman Julian Alvarez who signed on deadline day in January. He currently has the number nine shirt, the same number as Haaland but the one currently occupied by Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus.
On international duty for Norway Haaland previously wore the number 23, but has since moved down the numerical order to his preferred nine. However, he has also worn 17, 19 and 30 at club level.
With Haaland's arrival impending, he could be one of the final pieces to the City puzzle as Pep Guardiola continues to forge a formidable dynasty at the Etihad.
