Emergency services have been dealing with an incident on a major Ayrshire road this evening.
Paramedics and police units were on hand to deal with an accident on Hurlford Road, near Kilmarnock Fire Station after 5pm.
A lorry was halted in the middle of the road as a number of emergency units sealed off the busy street which connects the south side of the town centre to the Bellfield Interchange.
An eyewitness at the scene said: “It looks like a pretty nasty one, I don’t know what exactly happened but there was a large lorry stopped and it appeared that paramedics were attending to someone on the road.
“Whoever was involved, I hope they are okay, it looked like quite a bad one.”
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
