A Scot has shared the exciting moment he got to watch on as a pod of dolphins playfully chased his boat – capturing their antics on film.
Robbie Brunton was out near Dunbar on Thursday morning (June 16) when he spotted several pods of dolphins playing in the sea at around 7 am.
Incredibly, one group seemed happy to play up for his camera, frolicking close by and playfully chasing his family-owned boat, the 'Oor Millie'.
"The video was taken just off of blue circle cement works just east of Dunbar at about 7am," Explained the experienced deckhand. "And being a Dunbar local lobsterman, we regularly see pods of dolphins, especially during summer.
"This morning I was lucky enough to see about five different pods one of which decided to play alongside the boat which is quite common."
He was able to capture a clip of the pod as weaved in and out under the ship's prow easily keeping pace with the boat.
Sharing the clip on a local Facebook page, people flocked to thank him for sharing the magical moment.
One wrote: "Fabulous, and they headed along to Belhaven bay where we were swimming a wee bit later too."
Another added: "This is amazing. Thank you for putting this on. It is magical to see them so close."
"What a wonderful sight," added one dolphin fan. "And to think it is in our waters around Dunbar.
"My husband has often seen them off the coast when fishing in Dunbar Harbour."
