Annika Pham TrustNordisk has snapped up international sales rights to the new Danish crime thriller “Boundless,” based on fiction guru Jussi Adler-Olsen’s “Den Grænseløse,” his sixth novel in the Department Q series.   Danish helmer Ole Christian Madsen, credited for the HBO series “Banshee” (2013-16) and WWII drama “Flame & Citron” starring Mads Mikkelsen, has taken up the challenge of bringing Adler-Olsen’s suspenseful universe to the silver screens, working from a script by Jakob Weis (“The Interrogation”, “That Time of Year”). Christian Madsen will reunite with his “Banshee” actor Ulrich Thomsen (“Trom,” “Festen”). The latter reprises the role of detective Carl Mørck, which he played in Nordisk Film Production’s previous Department Q film version, “The Marco Effect”.

Taylor Swift wanted a ‘Twilight’ role — but director turned her down flat

“The Twilight Effect With Ashley Greene and Melanie Howe,” the filmmaker discussed how certain celebrities wanted to appear in the film because they were such huge lovers of the vampire romance films.“The craziest one of all those was to hear that Taylor Swift was a huge Twi-hard, and actually Taylor Swift and I had the same agent at the time,” the “About a Boy” director said.“[Our agent said] ‘Taylor would like to be in this movie — not because of you, but she’s a Twi-hard. She would be someone at the cafeteria or the diner or whatever, but she just wants to be in this movie,'” he recalled being told. But Weitz was afraid the “Shake It Off” crooner’s fame would be too distracting in the film.“The hardest thing for me was to be like, the moment that Taylor Swift walks onto the screen, for about five minutes, nobody is going to be able to process anything,” he noted.“I kick myself for it too, because I was like, ‘Wow, I could’ve been hanging out with Taylor Swift,'” he said of the “Bad Blood” singer.

With Girl in Red, Dagny, Aurora and More, Norway’s Oya Festival Showcases the Country’s Booming Music Scene

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorMusically speaking, Norway is too often unfairly overshadowed by its neighbors, the overachieving Sweden — which has mastered the art of speaking modestly while flexing outrageously —  on the east, and the eccentric Iceland and Scotland to the west. But with a population of just under 5.5 million, the comparatively understated country punches far above its weight in both the world’s music scene and its economy, and its booming talent was on ample display at the latest installment of the long-running Oya Festival in Oslo last week. While there were plenty of Anglo and American acts — ranging from headliners Gorillaz, Florence + the Machine and Nick Cave to H.E.R., Little Simz, Freddie Gibbs, Remi Wolf and Perfume Genius — equally if not more compelling was the diverse array of home-grown talent.

‘It Was Intimidating’: Mads Mikkelsen On Replacing Johnny Depp In ‘Fantastic Beasts’ And Why The Disgraced Actor ‘Might’ Come Back — Sarajevo

Although the Danish star arrived at the Sarajevo Film Festival to receive his Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award for his outstanding contribution to the art of film, many of the crowd who attended the event’s morning “Coffee With…” event on Monday seemed, rather worryingly, to be fans of Mads Mikkelsen’s TV work, notably HBO’s cannibal drama Hannibal. Nevertheless, the actor took their questions in his stride, as part of a wide-ranging conversation that embraced his early career in Danish indie cinema, his move to the U.S. and the M.C.U., his affection for Pink Floyd, and his love of football. “I always wanted to make money out of sports,” he quipped. “It never happened.”
