Madonna hit with backlash for video ‘tribute’ to George Floyd of her son dancing: ‘Self-absorbed celebrity’

Beyoncé delivered a special message to graduates during YouTube's Class of 2020 broadcast.She spoke about starting her own business as a Black woman, and paid tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.YouTube's Class of 2020 streamed on June 7, 2020, and featured appearances from Barack and Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Yara Shahidi, Billy Porter, Kerry Washington, Lizzo, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry.

Blueface is in hot water after he asked for a “George Floyddiscount”, referencing the man who was tragically killed in Minneapolis on May 25. The 23-year-old rapper took to his Instagram Story on June 5 to share a clip of himself furniture shopping, and when he saw the exorbitant cost of the items while checking out, he jokingly asked for a discount. “Aye, y’all tell them to give me that George Floyd discount,” he said in the now-deleted post. “I need that Black Lives Matter discount.”

Selma Blair took to Instagram to share how she and her son, Arthur, are honoring George Floyd. The 47-year-old actress said they "stood outside for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to just think of what George Floyd means for each of us from where we are." "What he represents also," she added.

Taking a stand. Meghan Markle honored George Floyd and Black Lives Matter in a video for her former Los Angeles high school. The former Duchess of Sussex surprised students at her alma mater, Immaculate Heart High School, on Wednesday, June 3, with a video message for graduates in the wake of Floyd’s death and marches across the world in protest of police brutality and systemic racial violence.

George Floyd‘s son Quincy Mason delivered a heart-wrenching message when he spoke to a crowd at the site of his father’s death. The 27-year-old knelt in prayer during a visit to the site on June 3, just one week after his dad died in the racially charged police killing which has sparked global outcry and protests. “No man or woman should be without their father,” he said, “And we want justice for what’s going on right now.”

Several ViacomCBS TV networks including Nickelodeon are showing their support for the Black Lives Movement. On Monday evening, nearly nine minutes of breathing sounds with the words "I can't breathe" played on screens across the country.

Madonna has found herself at the centre of controversy once again, after paying tribute to George Floyd with a video of her son David Banda dancing to Michael Jackson’s song They Don’t Care About Us.
