Jackie Shroff to Headline Singapore-France-India Co-Production ‘Slow Joe,’ Deal Signed at Cannes (EXCLUSIVE)

Naman Ramachandran Indian actor Jackie Shroff (“Sooryavanshi”) will play the lead in Singapore-France-India co-production “Slow Joe,” it was revealed at the Cannes Film Market.Shroff will play the late Indian musician Joseph Manuel Da Rocha, known as Slow Joe, a former heroin addict and drug dealer who was born in Mumbai, was disowned by his family, heartbroken at 50 and who moved to Goa and cleaned up. On a trip to Goa in 2007, Lyon-based French musician Cédric de la Chapelle met Joe, now a frail 64-year-old who was making ends meet as a hotel room broker. Joe, also a poet and musician, sang for de la Chapelle, who was captivated by his voice and recorded some of his a cappella songs.Back in France, de la Chapelle played Joe’s songs for music producer Olivier Boccon-Gibod of Horizon Musiques, who was also entranced.

Eric Clapton Cancels 2 Shows After Contracting COVID

Clapton’s Facebook page announced last night that Tuesday’s Zurich, Switzerland, show and Wednesday’s Milan, Italy, show would be cancelled as a result of his diagnosis. “Eric Clapton is unfortunately suffering from Covid having tested  positive shortly after the second concert at the Royal Albert Hall,” the Facebook post reads. “He has been told by his medical advisors that if he were to resume traveling and performing too soon, it could substantially delay his full recovery.  Eric is also anxious to avoid passing on any infection to any of his band, crew, Promoters, their staff and of course the fans.”The hope is that Clapton will recover in time to resume tour and complete the rest of the scheduled performances in Bologna on Friday and Saturday.“It is very frustrating that having avoided Covid throughout lockdown and throughout the period when travel restrictions have been in place Eric should have succumbed to Covid at this point in time,” the post continued.

Eric Clapton has been forced to postpone two of his upcoming shows after testing positive for COVID-19.The guitarist kicked off his latest UK and European tour earlier this month with a pair of shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London.However, Clapton has now announced that he is rescheduling his planned dates in Zurich, Switzerland and Milan, Italy, which had been set to take place tonight (May 17) and tomorrow (May 18), after he contracted COVID following the second Albert Hall gig.“Eric Clapton is unfortunately suffering from COVID having tested positive shortly after the second concert at the Royal Albert Hall,” a statement on Clapton’s website reads.
