Love Island fans were left baffled on Sunday night as Jay Younger was prompted to flash his abs during the ITV2 dating show’s eagerly anticipated reunion show. The cringe worthy moment came just minutes into the episode, as comedian Darren Harriott, who was co-hosting the show with regular presenter Laura Whitmore, prompted Jay to show off his muscles.
Jokingly telling him that the producers had requested a view of his impressive muscles via an earpiece, Jay cheekily flashed a smile as he rose to his feet and showed off his muscular physique by raising his shirt. While the view did garner a few impressed cheers from members of the studio audience, many fans at home were skeptical about its inclusion in the show, with some even asking where the star’s belly button was, as it didn’t immediately appear to be visible.
‘Is Jay missing a belly button?” Asked one fan. While another echoed the same chain of thought as they wrote: “Where’s Jay’s belly button?” A third fan also noticed the absence of a navel adding: “Does Jay not have a belly button?” While the question did seem to be a common occurrence, many fans at home were just confused as to why anyone had thought it was necessary.
“Objectifying Jay and getting him to show his abs once was weird, twice is beyond cringe, “ commented one fan, who was unimpressed with the way he was being treated. Another commented: “I just know Jay is sick of his abs carrying him,” as they hoped he would be given more time to speak, rather than simply stared at.
Several more fans shared similar views as they called the production out for objectifying the star. “What’s with this persistent desire to show Jay's abs? It's a clothed event tonight, don't look for excuses to strip the man ffs,”

All bombshells in their own right, they’re the kind of girls that I’d most probably keep at arm’s length upon first meeting IRL—through intimidation and little else, to be honest—but who each grew on me in the same way my desire for 13 new does every summer. Slowly, surely, and with conviction.Yet this week, as the nation basks in the wonderful news of Ekin-Su and fellow Love Island season eight winner Davide Sanclimenti’s upcoming series—they’re going to be cooking and eating their way around Turkey and Italy—it’s the Turkish Delight of Love Island UK whom I’m declaring the most iconic bombshell of them all.
