Love Island star Faye Winter has admitted that she still attends therapy, a year after appearing on season 7 of the Love Island dating show. Faye, 28, made it to the finals, coming third place with her beau, Teddy Soares, 27, in the 2021 series of the popular ITV2 reality programme. They finished behind winners Liam Reardon and Millie Court, who won the £50,000 prize money, and runners-up Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran.
The former lettings manager admitted that the "backlash was hard to deal with" once she returned from Majorca, mostly from trolls that picked on her looks. And speaking to The Sun, she admitted she was still receiving professional help: "I'm still in therapy and I think I'll be doing it for a long time," she said.
"I've always been very outspoken, I am myself, and if I need a bit of help along the way, then that's OK. "I've been very open and honest about what I've had done. The backlash was hard to deal with, I still have so many blocked words on my Instagram account and it took me a while before I could look at those words." she added.
Part of the backlash came in after Faye's now-infamous argument with Teddy after Casa Amor, which sparked over 25k Ofcom complaints. The incident is believed to be one of the most tense episode in the show's history, with the Islanders reportedly swearing 125 times with Faye contributing nearly half that total on her own. However, the trolling has continued to be an every day thing in Faye and Teddy's life, with the couple opening up about the cruel abuse they have to put up with.
