Casa Amor may have closed its doors for another series, but the fallout from Love Island’s latest double villa twist is still far from over. Despite early signs of chaos, the latest trip to Casa Amor actually resulted in relatively few recouplings, with just Tanya Manhenga, Olivia Hawkins and Kai Fagan opting to partner up with new bombshells.
But as usual, the merging of the two villas soon stirred up old feelings, with Tanya since going on to profess her love for Shaq Manhenga and Olivia showing signs of having unresolved feelings for Kai. This is nothing new, of course.
Just last year, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, as well as Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, reunited just days after choosing to recouple with Casa Amor bombshells. So is it possible to move on while still talking to your ex or is avoiding all contact the best approach? Louella Alderson, co-founder of dating site So Syncd, says that while moving on with a new partner while your ex is still in your life is possible, it can be a difficult situation to manage if feelings are still raw.
Speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo, she continues: “Seeing your ex regularly can bring up strong emotions and cause you to think about your ex rather than being focused on your new relationship. "For new relationships to flourish, they require time and energy.
Having your ex as a major distraction is never going to be conducive to your new relationship working out.” Now it’s worth noting that between the constant surveillance, threat of being dumped and no real way of spending some quality time alone, the Love Island villa is a pretty intense environment at the best of times. So it’s no surprise that some of the islanders struggle to continue getting to know someone new once
