Love Island's Jacques O'Neill has revealed what happens when contestants leave the villa. The 23 year old sensationally quit Love Island earlier this week, saying that he wanted to "feel like himself again", following a breakdown in his relationship with fellow contestant, Paige Thorne, 24. In his first interview since leaving the villa, Jacques detailed what happens in the show after a contestant leaves.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Jacques claimed that despite producers asking him to stay on the show, he still decided to leave. After he left the villa, he was moved to a separate villa where he stayed for two days until he was allowed to contact his mother, Janet Wright, 60. However, Jacques said he was soon left feeling "awful" about himself after searching his name online and seeing viewer reactions.
He said: "They went to bed and I stayed off watching TV and there was a fire stick there and I thought I’ll just search my name. "And I wish I didn’t because the way I felt googling my name and seeing everyone hating me I didn’t know what to do with myself. "I didn’t sleep that night I just stayed awake, because I was so scared of going out that villa and going home and even facing people in the street.
It rocked me. It was really scary." Jacques added that he "felt awful" about himself and that "everyone hated me", claiming that he even had to knock on one of the producers' doors for a hug. OK! has contacted ITV for further comment.
It comes after a Love Island spokesperson confirmed Jacques was leaving the show Tuesday 12 July. Become an OK! VIP and see all our exclusives - for free! Become an OK! VIP and you will unlock access to all of our big exclusives... Be the first to meet the latest showbiz babies, see the
