Love Island has been dominating our TV screens since it returned in 2015. In order to keep the high viewership numbers and the programme fresh for the audience, they continue to switch things up.The latest change is the luxurious villa where the popular ITV show is filmed. Bosses are reportedly looking to switch up the location for the second time (third if you include the celebrity version, and let's not even got started on the short-fated winter edition).
Let's look back at some other major changes... Celebrities to normal people In 2005 and 2006 we watched famous singletons try to find love under the Fiji sunshine. The show was originally hosted by Kelly Brook and Patrick Kielty, before Kelly was replaced with Fearne Cotton. Both series included Calum Best, who then popped up once more on the revived 2015 series to take the male islanders out for a night of clubbing.
Brendan Cole, who is currently competing on Dancing on Ice with Vanessa Bauer, Kate Lawler and Shane Lynch were all contestants too. After a short run, the show was axed due to disappointing ratings. Anybody else really keen for ITV to put it on their hub? LMK and I'll start a petition.
Money or Love? On the Love Island finales the winning couple has one important decision to make. No, it's not whether to release a clothing collection with Pretty Little Thing or In The Style. Instead, each member of the couple are given envelopes.
One has £50k written on a piece of paper, while the other has £0.The person with the £50k gets to choose whether to split the money, or take it all for themselves. Every couple so far has split - can you imagine the drama of a steal?! It would be so iconic we'd be telling our grandchildren about it in 60 years' time. Sign up for
