Love Island's Amy Hart announced she is expecting her first child on ITV's Loose Women on Monday, 29 August, and she's already gone into details about how she wants to give birth. The 30 year old made the announcement on the ITV daytime show, saying that it felt like the best place for the announcement after she had already discussed her fertility issues on the show.
Her pregnancy came after she spent £15,000 freezing her eggs after she found out she had a low egg count. She's expecting her baby with boyfriend Sam Rason.
On the show she discussed her plans for the pregnancy and the birth, saying that she wasn't interested in having a baby shower and would prefer to give birth at home, a practice which is becoming increasingly more popular these days. When asked by Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards about her plans for the birth, Amy said: "Well my mum will probably be there.
"I want a home birth now and I said to all of my friends, you know, you can all pop in after work, and I'll have my birthing pool in the lounge so all of my friends can pop in and stuff. "And everyone's like 'I'm not sure you're going to want an audience.'" Sam then chimed in: "I'm not so sure about this," before later admitting: "I think it could be a more relaxing experience, but yeah, you know you just think the hospital isn't far away if we need it but..." Amy then said: "I was on the phone to my friends like 'we can get a snack basket for you all and some fizzy drinks behind it.'" Kaye Adams, who's signed up for this year's Strictly Come Dancing, asked Amy if she was planning on having a baby shower, to which she replied: "No, I don't love them.
