Love Island's Adam says he 'hugged' Jacques as he left villa: 'We both know the score'

Love Island star Adam Collard has spoken out in his first interview since he and Paige Thorne were dumped from the Majorcan villa on Sunday 31 July. In his exit chat, the 26 year old explained that he and Jacques O'Neill gave each other a hug before the rugby star's decision to leave the show in mid July.
Jacques, 23, had been coupled up with Paige, 24, for the majority of his time on the hit ITV dating programme, but things took a turn for the worse after his head was briefly turned during the Casa Amor episodes. When bombshell Adam, 26, made his grand return to Love Island several days later, it all came to a head when Jacques' ex Gemma Owen, 19, said that star had been "proper s******g you off!" Jacques then made the difficult decision to leave the villa, sharing a tearful goodbye with Paige before returning to the UK.
Meanwhile, Adam swiftly swooped in and coupled up with Paige and the pair have gone from strength to strength ever since. Now, Adam has revealed that he and Jacques "shook hands" and "hugged" before his exit as he shared: "I knew he liked Paige, I liked her as well – it could have been anyone and it would have been the same situation.
"But I just wanted to make sure he was OK first and that he was doing it for the right reasons and not doing it just because it was me." He continued: "Don’t get me wrong, I knew I wanted to be with the girl he was with. At the same time, we gave each other a hug before he left.
