ITV dating show Love Island is known for its steamy summer flings and explosive arguments located in the heart of Spain.And it’s fair to say viewers are overwhelmed with excitement that the show is returning to the airwaves next month as the latest batch of sexy singletons will be treated to a brand-new villa.But it’s not just the jaw-dropping mansion that is getting a makeover, as executive producer Mike Spence has teased viewers can expect a change in the classic dating show format.And one of the first things the ITV boss has reassured fans is that the reality show is “moving away” from the food-based challenges after the show has been repeatedly slammed for some of the more gross tasks on the show.On Wednesday (May 25), the ITV boss answered a series of questions submitted on the popular forum page Reddit about the upcoming eighth series of the beloved dating programme.But one of the main questions that several fans submitted onto the social media site was whether viewers can expect to see the return of the of the gross challenge titled Spit The Roast trial.This task sees each of the couples to assemble a roast dinner using separate ingredients from one end of the course to the other without using their hands.This means that the Islanders therefore had to exchange items like vegetables and gravy by spitting them into each other’s mouths with a slew of gross slow-motions shots enough to make the viewers at home feel sick.One user asked: “Why the spitting food challenges [crying emoji] I beg youse to stop, such a waste of food!
