This year, TV has seen a new season of FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” as well as the debuts of AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire,” Peacock’s “Vampire Academy,” and Netflix’s “First Kill” — all of which were based on existing intellectual property. It follows, then, that the latest entry into the genre would be drawn from a story that was big during the last great vampire craze. “Let the Right One In,” a 2004 Swedish novel that became a Swedish film in 2008, just in time for “Twilight”-mania — and followed by an American adaptation called “Let Me In” in 2010 — now inspires a Showtime series executive produced by Andrew Hinderaker of “Away” and “Penny Dreadful.” In its early going, the show is intriguing: Its central story, of the tremulous, growing bond between a young vampire (Madison Taylor Baez) and her socially isolated peer (Ian Foreman) is sweetly drawn. But the show falters in illustrating the world around its characters. Though the kids are at the heart of the show, their interactions tend to lack stakes.

Let The Right One In – check it out below.Based on the Swedish novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist and the 2008 film from director Tomas Alfredson, the 10-episode series follows Mark (Demián Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Anika Noni Rose), whose lives were changed 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire.A synopsis reads: “Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.”The series also stars Grace Gummer (Mr Robot), Madison Taylor Baez (Selena: The Series), Kevin Carroll (Snowfall), Ian Foreman (Merry Wish-Mas) and Jacob Buster (Colony).Andrew Hinderaker (Penny Dreadful) serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series alongside Seith Mann (Homeland, Blindspotting). Mann has also directed a number of episodes, including the pilot.Let The Right One In‘s premiere will air October 7 on Showtime in the US.

Mónica Marie Zorrilla Nick Stahl has been cast in Showtime’s upcoming elevated drama genre series “Let the Right One In.” Stahl joins previously announced castmates Demián Bichir, Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman and Jacob Buster on the series.“Let the Right One In” is inspired by the original Swedish novel and romantic horror film of the same name, dealing with the themes of human frailty, strength and compassion. The show centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed forever when she was turned into a vampire a decade ago.

Nick Stahl has been cast as a series regular opposite Demián Bichir, in Let the Right One In, Showtime’s vampire drama series, from Away creator Andrew Hinderaker, who serves as showrunner; Seith Mann, who directed the pilot and additional episodes; and Tomorrow Studios. The series also stars Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman and Jacob Buster.

Showtime has picked up to series pilot Let the Right One In, starring Demián Bichir, completing the vampire drama’s long journey to the screen.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterShowtime has ordered the American version of “Let the Right One In” to series, Variety has learned.The 10-episode series, based on the hit Swedish novel and film of the same name, was originally ordered to pilot at the premium cabler back in March.

Ethan Shanfeld Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Jacob Buster and Ian Foreman have joined the cast of the Showtime drama pilot “Let the Right One In.”The project also stars Demián Bichir, who plays Mark, a husband and father whose perfect life is thrown into disarray when his daughter Eleanor (Baez) is bitten by a mysterious creature who vanishes into a night.

Selena: The Series is a two-part limited series. Part 1, which premieres Friday, December 4, consists of nine episodes.
