"Saturday Night Live" closed out its last "Weekend Update" segment under a Donald Trump administration with a final round of jabs at the president as well as some self-deprecating humor about its hosts.  At the top of the popular current events segment, host Colin Jost noted that the Dec. 19 show, "barring a reverse Christmas miracle" would be the last before the sketch show goes on a break until the New Year, returning after president-elect Joe Biden is sworn in on Jan.

Early voting for the Georgia Senate runoff elections started Monday, and Tuesday will bring a visit from President-elect Joe Biden, who will campaign for the Democratic candidates just a day after the Electoral College confirmed his victory.  Biden will be backing Democratic candidates Jon Ossoff and Rev.

The Supreme Court has denied a Texas effort Friday that would have essentially nullified the presidential elections in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin. “The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution,” the Supreme Court’s order reads.

The Supreme Court tossed out a suit filed by the attorney general of Texas and backed by President Donald Trump that sought to throw out the results of the election in four states that went for Joe Biden.

Ohio certified its election results Friday, giving the state's 18 electoral votes to President Trump.  Trump won the popular vote in the state by 8.03 percentage points -- 3,154,834 votes to President-elect Joe Biden's 2,679,165.  “I’m fully confident Ohio’s voice was heard in a fair and honest election,” Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose told News Center 7 in an interview.
