Sharon Van Etten shares details of new album ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’

Sharon Van Etten has today (April 6) shared details of her sixth studio album, ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’.The record will arrive on May 6 via Jagjaguwar and is set to explore “the questions we ask ourselves when we think the world – or at least, our world – might be ending”, according to a statement. It continued: “Have we loved as well as we could? Did we try hard enough? How do we protect the things most precious to us from destructive forces beyond our control? And how do we salvage something worthwhile when it seems all is lost?”You can watch the trailer for the new album below:Unlike Van Etten’s previous albums, there will be no single releases leading up to the album’s arrival.A statement confirmed that recently released singes ‘Porta‘ and ‘Used To It‘ will not appear on this album.Speaking about the album, Van Etten said: “I wanted to approach this release differently, to engage my fans in an intentional way, in an effort to present the album as a whole body of work.“These ten songs are designed to be listened to in order, at once, so that a much larger story of hope, loss, longing and resilience can be told.”Speaking about the album’s cover, Van Etten added: “I wanted to convey that in an image with me walking away from it all…not necessarily brave, not necessarily sad, not necessarily happy.”‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’ tracklist:01. ‘Darkness Fades’ 02. ‘Home to Me’ 03.

New Order launch new charity t-shirt to help the people of Ukraine

New Order have launched a new official t-shirt in aid of the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal.Available through the band’s official merch store, the shirt’s design was inspired by the VHS label of their Taras Shevchenko concert film, which was designed by the Peter Saville Associates agency. The gig in question was filmed in late 1981 at the Ukrainian National Home in New York City. The film was named after Taras Shevchenko, the 19th century writer, poet and painter whose works championed the formation of an independent Ukraine. You can purchase the white t-shirt for £25, with a minimum of £10 from each sale being donated to the Red Cross.Last November, New Order marked the 40th anniversary of their debut album ‘Movement’ by sharing the aforementioned NYC show on YouTube in its entirety.

Noel Gallagher and The Edge will appear on Confidence Man’s new album

Confidence Man‘s Janet Planet has confirmed to NME that Noel Gallagher and U2‘s The Edge will appear on the Aussie duo’s new album.Back in 2019, Gallagher told BBC Radio 1 how he had attended a party with The Edge and Confidence Man, which ended with him arguing with the duo’s neighbour on their behalf after complaints were made about the level of noise coming from the party.A rumour had also been swirling that The Edge had contributed tambourine on the band’s new album ‘TILT’, due out April 1 via Heavenly, and Planet was asked by NME in a new interview whether there was any truth in it.“Noel and The Edge are actually both hidden on the record somewhere,” she responded, adding: “I’m not supposed to talk about it. You’ll have to do some research on the YouTube comments.”Elsewhere in the interview, Planet discussed Gallagher having the band support him on a number of UK summer tour dates, and how she hopes he introduces them for their Glastonbury set.“Fingers crossed Noel introduces us on stage,” she said of Glastonbury, adding: “Noel still messages me all the time.
