Chip ’N Dale: Rescue Rangers debuted on Disney+ yesterday (May 20), and with it came a remix of the titular series’ classic theme song, courtesy of Post Malone.Malone keeps intact much of the original version’s lyrics and core melody, but spins it through his signature trap-influenced pop style. It marks his third time contributing to a Hollywood soundtrack – in 2017, he linked up with Watt for the xXx: Return Of Xander Cage inclusion ‘Burning Man’, and in 2019, had his ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding’ cut ‘Sunflower’ (a collab with Swae Lee) featured prominently in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Malone also had a cameo role in the latter film.Have a look at the lyric video for Post Malone’s Chip ’N Dale: Rescue Rangers theme song below, then check out the original:Directed by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island, Chip ’N Dale: Rescue Rangers stars John Mulaney and Andy Samberg (who is also Schaffer’s bandmate in TLI) as the titular chipmunk duo.
It’s an ultra-meta take on the animated series from the 1980s, with its cast rounded out by the likes of Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, J.K. Simmons and KiKi Layne.Per a synopsis for the film, it sees Chip and Dale “living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles”.
So goes the blurb: “It has been decades since their successful television series was canceled, and Chip has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale, meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. “When a former cast mate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.”Have a

above right now.So first, as they drank shots, Meyers and Malone played a game where Meyers asked Malone several questions about himself (Meyers), with Malone drinking whenever he got one wrong. Sorry Seth, I watched it but I can’t remember the title of your Netflix special either. Then Meyers moved on to the bit where he made cocktails for Malone inspired by Malone’s tattoos.“True or false, do you have a tattoo that says ‘tired no more,'” Meyers asked.“Always Tired,” Malone corrected.“What?” Meyers asked, looking pretty anxious while asking.“Same thing,” Malone replied, laughing.“You have, um, a tattoo that’s ‘always tired.’ So our team got the first tattoo wrong,” Meyers quipped, before pouring the cocktail called “Tired No More.”” Which is the tattoo I’m gonna make those f—ing dummies get,” Meyers continued as Malone laughed.“I think it’s pretty good, you could sell it,” Malone said.“And the good news is, we can sell it because the name’s available,” Meyers replied sarcastically.Right after this, the segment edited in a clip where Meyers corrected the record.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music CriticIt’s hard to remember any performer who been so on top of the world as Post Malone who has gone to such lengths to convince us he’s bottoming out as Malone does in “Twelve Carat Toothache,” his fourth album. It’s a common lyrical trope that success breeds discontentment, and Malone has already trod some of that territory — four years and two albums ago, he was telling us he was “Rich & Sad.” But that song almost seems like a feint compared to where he’s at now.

Post Malone has discussed his relationship with TikTok, saying he struggles “to make something natural” on the social media platform.Conversations around the demands on artists from record labels to use the platform have been in the headlines in recent weeks after Halsey shared a number of posts claiming that their label were holding a new song hostage until they could “fake” a viral TikTok.Taking to their TikTok page, the singer – who released latest album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ last year – said in a post titled “I’m tired” that there is new music she wants to release “ASAP,” but that “marketing” is getting in the way and the label won’t let her share the new song. The song, ‘So Good’, has now got a release date of June 9, with her label Capitol Records telling Halsey publicly: “We love you and are here to support you. We are an artist first company that encourages open dialogue.
