Has he been able to get beyond the franchises he started on FX? Consider, for instance, his recent smash “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”; the surfeit of punctuation in the title seems to suggest a sublimated desire to call it what it is, another installment of the true-life “American Crime Story” in all but name. “Halston’s” gilded retelling of recent-ish celebrity culture recalled “Feud,” with the adversaries, perhaps, being the designer and his own ego. And now, with his new series “The Watcher,” Murphy has reverse-engineered an “American Horror Story,” taking a true story and finding within or beyond its nuances some Murder House melodramatics.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has broken records on Netflix and has became one of the most-watched shows of all time.

Adrien Brody, who features as playwright and one-time Marilyn Monroe spouse Arthur Miller in Andrew Dominik’s Blonde, says elements of the story adapted from Joyce Carol Oates’ 2000 bestselling fictionalized novel, are “terrifying” but hopefully lead to a feeling of empathy for the woman behind the cultural icon.

Michelle Zauner (Japanese Breakfast) has teamed up with The North Face to release a cover of “The Story,” the 2007 hit by singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile. The cover features a string arrangement by Craig Hendrix and will be featured in The North Face’s new “It’s More Than A Jacket” campaign.

Fans of "American Horror Story" can finally breathe a sigh of relief as details for the show’s eleventh season have finally been announced, including the title, "American Horror Story: NYC." After months of speculation from fans as to what the theme of the upcoming season would be, FX announced Thursday the season will be called "NYC" and will premiere Oct. 19.  Two episodes will air on the premiere date, with two episodes airing each Wednesday for the following four weeks.
