Suga from K-pop boyband BTS has released his first studio album, ‘D-Day’.The record was released today (April 21), alongside a music video for lead single ‘Haegeum’. The thrilling clip follows two versions of Suga – one a cop, the other a gangster – as they prepare to face off against one another.“This song’s a haegeum, get on board now / The lively rhythm, perhaps this could be a new kind of haegeum,” he raps on the song’s chorus, in reference to the traditional Korean string instrument haegeum.Suga’s new studio album ‘D-Day’ also featured collaborations with his BTS bandmate J-hope on ‘HUH?!’, as well as Woosung of The Rose and late Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto on ‘Snooze’.

Tintin NFT Collection Launched by Crossmint, Tintinimaginatio and artèQ (EXCLUSIVE)

Naman Ramachandran Crossmint, a start-up that provides infrastructure for building blockchain applications, has partnered with Tintinimaginatio, the company which has been set up to protect and promote the work of Hergé, to release the iconic Tintin comic series’ first NFT collection. In partnership with artèQ, the collection comprises the illustration “The Blue Lotus,” which was created by Hergé in 1936 and auctioned for €2.6 million ($2.8 million) in early 2021. The NFT collection includes two variants of “The Blue Lotus” NFTs, a limited edition print work of which only 777 copies were created and a purely digital NFT that is available in a similarly limited version of 1,777 pieces.

Troy Kotsur Executive-Produced ‘Houria’ Yields Social Impact NFT Collection to Benefit Deaf Women Association

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent In a bid to showcase the utility of NFT’s in cinema, the team behind Mounia Meddour’s (“Papicha”) Rome-premiering film “Houria” is launching a limited impact NFT collection. Meddour’s follow up to her Cesar-winning feature debut “Papicha,” “Houria” is still playing in theaters in France and was recently boarded by “CODA” Star Troy Kotsur who is now executive producer on the movie. Kotsur made history last year as the first Deaf man to take home an acting award at the Oscars.  The initiative, which is being engineered by the film’s producers Ink Connection and High Sea, as well as the banners MADworld and Lumiere, will allow for the creation of a series of NFT’s focusing on “Houria”‘s central themes — sign language and dance. Powered by blockchain technology, a portion of the NFT proceeds will be donated to the Paris-based non-profit org Femmes Sourdes Citoyennes et Solidaires (United Deaf Women Citizens).

Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away on March 28 from colon cancer, the musician's team announced on Sunday (April 2). A Japanese composer who changed the faces of pop music, cinematic composition, and the avant-garde several times over in his lifetime, Sakamoto was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014.
