Lewis Capaldi has gone to new extremes to promote his new single 'Forget Me' by stripping off - and now he's explained why.
Last night, the Scots singer unleashed his new marketing tactic of a huge picture of himself semi-naked on billboards across the UK, and he's now said that he chose to do it because he wanted to utilise his greatest strength - his body.
Speaking on his TikTok channel, Lewis revealed why he decided to do the billboard. He said: "So to promote my brand new single Forget Me, which comes out on September 9, I thought it was only right that I utilise my greatest strength to get the word out there, to people know I've got a new song coming out, that greatest strength of course, is... my body! Hope you like the song."
And fans were loving the video, with many flocking to the comments. One said: "Icon." While another said: "Haha what a man!" Another wrote: "Scottish Beyonce is back in business!"
The Someone You Loved singer announced the news of his highly anticipated new music during a TikTok live last week as he performed at the O2 arena in London.
Taking to Twitter yesterday to share the new snaps, Capaldi wrote: "Took my clothes off and traumatised the general public all in the name of shameless self promotion. Sex sells. New single FORGET ME out the 9th September x"
The billboard sees a shirtless Capaldi straight faced, as he poses wearing nothing but boxers and sunglasses while holding a cocktail. Following the snaps, he wrote: "I swear to god if I’ve stripped down to my pants and put it on billboards all over the world to promote this new single just for it to be a massive flop I’ll be so embarrassed".
