Following Caroline's shock death, Laura remained host of the programme and its spin-off show After Sun until standing down last month. And it seems she has now revealed her true reasons for leaving her presenting role on the dating series.
She said: "Love Island is a show that I love to watch, and I always want to work on shows that I enjoy. But there’s nothing more that I can do with it.There are parameters." Speaking to the Evening Standard, Laura continued: "When you work on the show, you can’t really talk about certain things. But I’m really proud of what I did and proud to leave on what I think has been a brilliant series, with great winners." Laura has now turned her sights on acting and is set to make her West End debut in the supernatural thriller 2:22 – A Ghost Story.
Busted singer Matt Willis, Archers actor Felix Scott and Australian actress Tamsin Carroll will also appear in the play from September 6 to January 8 at the Criterion Theatre in London.
