Laura Whitmore has been seen for the first time since she announced that she was quitting presenting duties on hit ITV2 show Love Island. The 37 year old made the shock announcement on Monday 22 August with an Instagram post, saying that she found "certain elements of the show very difficult".The mother-of-one didn't look too upset at her news as she beamed whilst arriving to a studio in London where she is rehearsing for her debut West End performance in 2:22 A Ghost Story. Her casual outfit was worlds away from her glamorous wardrobe whilst she was presenting the show, as she dressed down in a grey bell-sleeved jumper, black skinny jeans and white sneakers.
She sported mirrored aviator sunglasses and her blonde hair was pulled back into a fuss-free bun as she juggled a coffee, her phone and a purple folder, no doubt carrying her theatre script. Announcing her Love Island departure on Monday, Laura posted an image of herself dressed in a red jumpsuit during her presenting stint on this year's show, and alongside it, she wrote: "Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love Island.
"There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects." She then paid tribute to her late friend and former Love Island host Caroline Flack, who passed away in February 2020. "I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands.
I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. "I hope I did you proud Caroline," Laura concluded her statement alongside a red heart emoji.
