The festival will open with “Firebrand,” in which Vikander has the leading role of Katherine Parr. McGregor will present “You Sing Loud, I Sing Louder,” in which he stars alongside his daughter Clara McGregor. McGregor’s role in Danny Boyle’s dark comedy “Shallow Grave” (1994) earned him an Empire Award for best British actor, and their next joint film, “Trainspotting” (1996), was an international sensation. McGregor and Boyle teamed up again for the 1997 romantic comedy “A Life Less Ordinary,” in which McGregor appeared alongside Cameron Diaz.

Rep.: ‘Lied about where he went to…college’; ‘Allegedly Swindled a disabled vet whose dog was dying.’”The correct question, of course, concerns the infamous serial liar from New York: “Who Is George Santos?” And it was contestant Mattea Roach who gave it to Jennings. In a tone that implied he’d been waiting all night to drop the line, Jennings replied, “I don’t get to say this very much, but George Santos is correct.” Cue the laughter and applause from the contestants and studio audience. Check out the video above. For those that aren’t aware, Santos falsified nearly all of his resume, from his education to his work history to his ethnicity and religion.

With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” her representative said in a statement to Variety.Turner was still in her teens when she began recording with future husband Ike; their tumultuous partnership produced 15 years of popular singles, culminating in the 1971 crossover smash “Proud Mary.” However, in 1976 the vocalist fled her abusive marriage; she detailed her violence-scarred relationship in the 1986 bestseller “I, Tina,” which served as the basis for the 1993 biopic “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”

Those deaths and the racial reckoning that followed were not obvious fodder for making people laugh. “All that stuff just kept piling on,” Sykes says, her voice softer and more tentative than the tart Southern twang she deploys on stage. “I knew I wanted to talk about it, but I just didn’t know how to make it funny. We were all just so angry.”
