EXCLUSIVE: BET+ has renewed its popular music-driven drama series Kingdom Business for a second season. Production is underway in Atlanta on the series executive produced by DeVon Franklin (Miracles From Heaven), Holly Carter (The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel), multi-Grammy-award-winner Kirk Franklin and Michael Van Dyck.
Written by John Sakmar and Kerry Lenhart, Kingdom Business explores the gospel music industry through the lenses of family, faith, love and the redemptive power of music.
Yolanda Adams returns to lead the series as the reigning “Queen of Gospel” Denita Jordan and Serayah as Rbel, a talented up-and-coming gospel star with a troubled past who threatens Denita’s crown.
Joining as recurring guest stars for Season 2 areLoretta Devine and Louis Gossett, Jr. as Denita Jordan’s parents, “Darlene” and “Jeremiah”. Musical guests this season include Grammy and Billboard Award winners Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Chandler Moore who earned a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. Returning for Season 2 are Kiandra Richardson as “C.J. Jordan-Walker,” Tamar Braxton as “Sasha”, and La’Myia Good as “Essence.”
Kingdom Business follows Denita (Adams), a gospel superstar who runs an in-house record label, Kingdom Records, in addition to acting as First Lady of First Kingdom Church, who is determined to guard her family and its many secrets at all costs. Hallmark Channel's has set a season 10 premiere date has officially been renewed for season 11, ET can exclusively reveal. The network's longest-running scripted series will kick off its 12-episode 10th season, which will include the milestone 100th episode, on Sunday, July 30 at 9 p.m.
J. Kim Murphy Netflix is in for more “Outer Banks.” The streamer has renewed the adventure series for a fourth season, five days ahead of the debut of Season 3 on Feb. 23. The news was announced Saturday evening at Poguelandia, the “Outer Banks” fan event in Huntington Beach, Calif. Cast members Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, Rudy Pankow, Austin North and Drew Starkey surprised the crowd with the renewal announcement. Attendees were also indulged with a nine-minute preview of Season 3. “Seeing Poguelandia come to life was nothing short of spectacular,” series co-creators, executive producers and showrunners Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke said in a joint statement. “The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into Season 4 of ‘Outer Banks.’ Thank you to Netflix, our cast and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen.”
