Kelsey Parker has described cancer-stricken Deborah James as a “pillar of strength” for her late husband Tom, who tragically died in March after a battle with brain cancer. Deborah, 40, heartbreakingly wrote a “goodbye” post to Instagram on Monday, revealing that her body had “stopped playing ball” and revealed she had moved to hospice at home care and said that “nobody knows how long I’ve got left”. Deborah, who has relentlessly campaigned to raise awareness about bowel cancer, and to raise donations for cancer research, asked her followers to donate to her Bowel Babe Fund by buying “me a drink [the cost of which to be donated] to see me out of this world”.
Currently, the fund stands at over £1.6million, just 24 hours after Deborah’s “goodbye post”. Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter . You can sign up at the top of the page.
Kelsey took to her Instagram stories to reveal that she had donated to the fund. Kelsey posted a photo of Deborah, a link to the donation page and wrote: “Buying you a drink, link below”. She also wrote: “Sending love, light and strength to you, your family and babies.
Deborah, you are an earth angel. You’ve raised so much awareness and money, you’re a hero. “Your courage is inspiring.
You were a pillar of strength for my Tommy Boy, always there with advice. I know you were both members of a club that you didn’t want to be in. I wish we all could’ve met under different circumstances.” Kelsey added: “Like Tom… you’ve never let cancer define you and what a legacy you’ve created”.
