Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos are returning to their roots. Variety reports that the married actors will be behind the camera this time as executive producers for a primetime spinoff of 1970’s famous sitcom All My Children, called Pine Valley.

A number of stars emerged from the fictional hamlet of Pine View, PA, the setting for ABC’s venerable soap opera All My Children. It debuted in 1970 and ran all the way through 2013.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are working on bringing to primetime! The couple is executive producing an follow-up series in early development at ABC, ET confirms. ET has reached out to Ripa's rep and ABC. The series — called and written and executive produced by Leo Richardson (, ) — will center on a young journalist with a secret agenda, who comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families.

reported by Deadline, the series will also be produced by Andrew Stearn (“Tales of the City,” “Shameless”) and Robert Nixon, the Oscar-nominated son of “All My Children” creator Agnes Nixon, who died at age 93 in 2016.The sequel, to be executive produced and written by Leo Richardson (“Star”), would follow a young journalist who snoops around the dark pasts of the show’s Kane — that would include the legendary Erica, as played by Susan Lucci — and Santos families.

An iconic daytime drama is getting a primetime makeover. ABC is in early development on Pine Valley, a primetime version of the network’s beloved daytime drama All My Children, with popular alums Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos executive producing alongside Andrew Stearn and filmmaker Robert Nixon, son of the late AMC creator Agnes Nixon.

Kelly Ripa is a doting mum to three children who have grown up in the spotlight thanks to having two parents in the public eye.And in an interview earlier in the year, the Live with Kelly and Ryan star was left in shock after making a discovery about her daughter Lola's own public image.
