In the Channel 4 show, which aired last week, Katie, 44, spoke about the moments leading up to her drink-driving crash last year, following which she narrowly avoided jail and was handed a 16-week suspended sentence and two-year driving ban. She also bravely discussed a suicide attempt and how she lives with PTSD.

Katie described how she was travelling from Johannesburg to Swaziland in two people carriers before they were attacked, with her being thrown from the vehicle and items such as laptops, iPads, passports, cash and jewellery being stolen.
